When Xbox 720 and PS4 are both released, that will begin the battle of the next-generation consoles, and it looks like EA is going with the assumption that both will be released within the same timeframe.
According to a report from PSLS on Tuesday, EA’s CTO Rajat Taneja and Electronic Arts Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen both discussed what is coming from EA this year, as well as certain Xbox 720 and PS4 expectations they have.
They said they are “assuming Microsoft and Sony are more aligned in their release dates,” which could mean that there will be two next-generation consoles released together.
That would surely place consumers in a difficult, yet fun, predicament for which console they should buy. This is of course assuming the average gamer doesn’t have $1,000 to spend on new systems and games.
Later in the conversation, EA said they have invested over $100 million in next-generation research and development. In addition to this, they have been developing next-generation titles for over a year now.
EA said they have not yet set a price for how much their games will cost, but did say they will not be more or less than $10.
In addition, EA said they currently are working on 15 core titles that will be hitting the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4. Excited yet?
Finally, EA promised that people will be seeing a lot of movements and reveals between now and E3 2013.
