Have you ever had a dream that when you woke up you weren’t sure if it was real or not? I have. It’s a frightening experience. You remember the scene well in your head. It must have been real, right? How did you get from that scene to waking up in your bed? It must have been a dream. Or was it?
Sometimes people have a hard time separating real life from fiction. When Joshua Morrow and Sharon Case were on the talk show, The Talk, Joshua chatted about this topic quite openly. He knows there are some die hard Y&R fans out there. Sometimes the fans forget that Joshua is not “Nick Newman”. One time he got slapped at an airport because of something “Nick” did on the show.
Michelle Stafford has, at least once that I know of, had to remind a fan at an appearance that she is Michelle and will not answer to Phyllis. Just recently she tweeted along the same lines. She is Michelle. She is an actress for The Young and the Restless. She is not “Phyllis Summers” and to my knowledge has not cheated on her husband, hid the body of her ex-therapist or been involved in a hit and run that left people in critical condition. She often jokes around by telling people with complaints about the show to direct them to George Guzman, the exceptional hairstylist.
The same goes when I write articles about the show. I don’t have favorite couples. I love them all. Every pairing that has ever been made from the show has been my favorite. You know why? Because the writers of this show are talented individuals. They pair people and chemistry just happens. Okay! That’s not entirely true. Victor and Sharon made me want to puke. Phyllis and Jack bored me to tears. Christine and Paul are a snorefest. But in all fairness, I don’t write the for the show. I write for my own entertainment purposes. If others get a rise, whether positive or negative, I have done my job well.
People, mainly #LANE fans, whom I love all of them dearly as they bring me a lot of page views, are extremely passionate people. Lets be serious, we all love LANE. Christel Khalil and Daniel Goddard are just too cute together. Recently I’ve written a few articles on this couple. As much as I love them as a couple and I believe that they are going to be together in the long run, I do see temptations coming. Why? Because the spoilers say so. That’s why! I read spoilers and I try to place the pieces together. Guess what? The spoilers of the show don’t reflect my opinions, they are simply factual spoilers. My writing is strictly my putting pieces together as we go, for the most part. So when I mentioned Cane is going to be tempted by someone, it’s because it’s actually going to happen. I have been guessing who it’s going to be since the spoilers came out. First I thought Sharon. Then I thought Adriana. If you don’t know why I picked those women, read the previous articles. Recently I wrote that I see Chelsea being the temptation for Cane. Lily is starting to become attracted to Tyler. That’s not my opinion, it’s what is happening.
The fact is, “Cane” and “Lily” are not real characters. Daniel Goddard and Christel Khalil are not married in real life. Joshua did not cheat on “Sharon” in real life. Michelle did not rent a car to run over “Christine” and “Paul” and so on. Rather than yelling or tweeting real people and rudely commenting about their characters, take a deep breath and remember, it’s fiction. Slapping Joshua is not going to make “Nick” behave. Calling Michelle “Phyllis” is not going to win you over any pleasant comments. Characters are just that, characters. Actors on the other hand are real people with real feelings.
