World’s Toughest Rodeo at the Xcel Energy Center
This Friday and Saturday, World’s Toughest Rodeo returns to the Xcel Energy Center. Featuring, top cowboys and cowgirls from around the U.S., fans will experience bareback, bull and saddle bronc riding, as well as barrel racing. New this year to World’s Toughest Rodeo is the American-style bull fighting which is sure to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. Each night, doors open at 6:30 p.m. for fans to take pictures with and get autographs from competing cowboys and the rodeo clown. The first 500 kids under 12 years of age will get cowboy hats on Friday night. Following Saturday’s rodeo action, catch the popular “Party in the Dirt” with country star Dustin Lynch. World’s Toughest Rodeo is at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on February 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Tickets available at 800-745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com. BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life at the Science Museum of Minnesota
Experience the fascinating inner-workings of the human body at various stages of life at the latest exhibition at the Science Museum of Minnesota. BODY WORLDS and The Cycle of Life uses 200 real human specimens and 20 body plastinates to show how our bodies change as they age and endure various health and physical situations. Advance reservations to this exhibition are highly recommended. You can reserve tickets by calling 800-221-9444, by visiting the box office at the museum or by purchasing your tickets online. Admission to the Science Museum’s galleries and BODY WORLDS is $27 for adults and $19 for children ages 4‐12 and seniors. Discounts are available for Science Museum members, groups of 15 or more, and individuals with limited income. The museum is closed on Monday but reserved admittance times to BODY WORLDS are every 15 minutes from 9:45 a.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday and every 15 minutes from 9:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Sunday this week. “Diary of a Worm, a Spider and a Fly” at Stages Theatre Company
The popular children’s book series about bugs from Doreen Cronin is now on the stage in Hopkins. The musical comedy “Diary of a Worm, a Spider and a Fly” is an all-ages show that gives you a look at the world from the eyes of insects. Night Trains at Twin City Model Railroad Museum
On Saturday evening from 6 – 9 p.m., you can find charming model railroad displays set up at the Twin City Model Railroad Museum in Bandana Square. Dozens of various sets can be viewed in dim lighting to capture the magical glow of the trains and their accompanying villages and quaint scenes. But hurry, night trains can only be viewed on Saturday nights until February 23, 2013. Admission is $8 for adults and children under 5 are free. Special family and extended family rates are available. The Twin City Model Railroad Museum is located at 1021 Bandana Blvd E, Suite 222 in St. Paul.
Wells Fargo Winter Skate in downtown St. Paul
Take advantage of the final opportunity to skate outdoors in downtown St. Paul this winter. Wells Fargo Winter Skate ends their free, open skating for the season on February 3, 2013. Bring your own skates or rent a pair for $2.
