The Legwarmers return to the State Theatre in Falls Church, Virginia this weekend with sold out shows on Friday and Saturday night. Not bad for a band that just played the venue just over a month ago. It is just another testament to the loyal following this 80’s era cover band has developed in the area. They are certainly one of the top bands in their genre. Their concerts are more than just a band covering tunes from an era 2.5 decades ago. The group is an experience; they are the closest thing to a musical time machine.
If you are longing to hear those 80’s hit one more time, the Legwarmers would be a good choice. If you are looking for an excuse to make your hair big one more time, or to rock the Member’s Only Jacket, and have another excellent adventure then the Legwarmers are who you want to see in concert.
Chet Reno holds down the bass lines and adds his rightous vocals, Lavaar Huxtable has the beat locked in on drums and Cyndi Sindee adds some percussion and shows girls still want to have fun with her singing. Cru Jones and Gordon Gartrell supply the bands killer guitar sounds and round out the vocals. Captain Morgan Pondo provides the trademark 80s keyboards and Clarence McFly provides the sax.
If you weren’t lucky enough to score tickets, you can find more tour dates on the band’s website. The doors are scheduled to open at 8PM and the music is scheduled to start at 9:30PM. Both shows are sold out so you may want to arrive early to stake out you space in the club. The State Theatre will have the bars open and the restaurant will keep the kitchen cooking. They will have all the drinks ready and their food will satisfy your hunger needs. You can find out more about the venue including menus, directions, and a complete concert calendar at their website.
