Fenmore Baldwin was that sweet little kid born to the loving, sexy couple, Michael Baldwin and Lauren Fenmore. What kid wouldn’t be lucky to have those two talented people as parents? Fen was loved and protected as a child. He was what society would consider spoiled, however, I feel it’s how all kids should grow up. Recently we’ve seen a major change in Fen, beginning with the casting of the talented Max Ehrich.
Fen grew up. He was an innocent, nice guy, until Summer Newman got a hold of him. Like her mother, Summer has the gift of turning people’s lives upside down. As Summer began to act out against her parents, she dragged Fen thru the mud and brought him to the dark side. Fen pleaded with Summer to stop with the nonsense. She kissed him.
Like any young man smitten by a beautiful face, Fen fell for Summer Newman. As Summer began her bullying campaign against Jamie, the boy her mother’s fling, Ronan was mentoring, Fen tried to tell Summer that enough was enough. Summer didn’t listen. As any teenaged girl, her heart did a flip flop. She actually got to know Jamie and she felt bad for his situation. She regretted the trouble she started and vowed to stop. Fen saw the change in Summer and with the flick of a switch, Fen went dark.
Fen’s love for Summer was being threatened by the new kid in town. As Summer backed down, Fen stepped up and created more trouble for Jamie. As Summer began to defend Jamie, Fen got more and more jealous. It didn’t end there.
Fen realized that with Ronan leaving town, his father was appointed to become Jamie’s new mentor. That didn’t sit well with the spoiled Fen. No way! The new kid in town had the attention of his first love and his father. Who was this guy? Now with his parents offering Jamie to stay with them, it just added flames to fire.
And Jamie kissed Summer. Whoa! This is where we’re starting to see Fen become more and more like his Uncle Kevin in the earlier days. Kevin had a rough childhood. That was expected from Kevin. For Fen, the spoiled rich kid, not so much. His parents loved and protected him. Well, can you really blame Fen for turning to the dark side?
Fen’s parents sent him away to live with his brother. The new kid threatened his relationship with his first love. His parents acted like the new kid was their kid. Fen acting out is dark and disturbing. But Fen really isn’t acting as horrible as a normal guy would act. I mean, most guys would knock out the crap out of the new kid taking over his life. Fen, though, so far he hasn’t been too bad, has the potential to be as dangerous as his uncle Kevin once was.
I am thrilled to bits to see an exciting storyline blossoming in which Max Ehrich is able to grow as an actor and show off his talents. I look forward to the excitement that is yet to come where Fen is concerned. I think back to the episode where Kevin locked Colleen in the freezer and burned down the restaurant. JT’s rescue of Colleen was my most favorite scene ever. So Max, as Fen, I am sure will have some chilling scenes ahead. And I can not wait! Josh Griffith and Brent Boyd have brought The Young and the Restless to a whole new level. Now if only I can steal a copy of what’s to come, I won’t have to wait to see the excitement explode onscreen!!
