Another big cast addition has been made to The CW’s second pilot adaptation effort for Kiera Cass‘ The Selection!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, British actor and musician Michael Malarkey has been tapped to star as Prince Maxon, the debonair royal whose affection is being sought by thirty-five girls in a televised national competition in Cass’ The Hunger Games meets The Bachelor breakthrough novel.
Photos of Malarkey, a relative newcomer to the screen world, are attached via his Official Facebook Page.
Malarkey joins Israeli actress Yael Grobglas – starring as America Singer – in leading the new pilot’s cast.
The CW ordered a second script for The Selection adaptation after a first effort wasn’t picked up, and the network’s president Mark Pedowitz was quoted to state at this year’s Television Critics Association, “The script just came in … It’s very well done.” Alex Graves will direct the new pilot.
Peta Sergeant and Sean Patrick Thomas have also been announced for the cast.
