The red carpet at the 2013 SAG Awards took an unexpected turn in fashion this year. Instead of following fashion and award show trends and sticking to richly colored jewel tones, the SAG red carpet was more formal in a sea of black and white with dark hues of blue and the occasional pop of color thrown in. Pops of color were seen on celebrities like Alfre Woodard who wore a beautiful lime green gown by Kevan Hall and some celebrities even wore metallics like Jennifer Garner who wore a gold Oscar de la Renta gown. There were definitely some celebrities who seriously need to consider firing their stylists (poor Julianna Margulies…she just can’t seem to get it right!), while others need to give their stylists a raise for ensuring that they rocked the red carpet. These are some of the best and worst dressed of the night and my personal favorites as well.
Best dressed in all black and white: Claire Danes in a black one sleeved gown by Givenchy with geometric details.
Worst dressed in black in white: January Jones whose looked like she forgot to remove her bid after eating a lobster dinner.
Best dressed in all black: Naya Rivera who wore a sexy little black number by Donna Karan and Tina Fey who always manages to look great on any carpet in a black Oscar de la Renta strapless gown featuring a sweetheart neckline and metallic belt.
Worst dressed in all black: It’s a tie! Who in there right mind would dress such a statuesque beauty like Sigourney Weaver in a napkin? Or let Jane Lynch walk out of the house looking like a dominatrix out of a B warrior movie?
Best dressed in white: Surprise…Sofia Vergara! When does she ever go wrong especially when wearing a satin white gown by Donna Karan.
Best boobilicious dress: Michelle Dockery in a vintage black stain gown by Chado Ralph Rucci with mesh cutout panels.
Worst boobilicious dress: Julianne Moore who wore a white couture gown by Chanel that was a bit ill fitting in the boobie area showing her lack of assets.
Best red dress goes hands down to Jessica Chastain who channeled her inner Jessica Rabbit in a glorious Alexander McQueen strapless gown.
Best dressed in blue: Jennifer Lawrence and Amanda Seyfried. Jennifer looked gorgeous and stellar in a navy Dior gown and Amanda looked stunning in a deep blue mermaid gown by Zac Posen. Jess adds extra gleam with long titian tresses and a cornea-searing,
Worst dressed in light pink: Rose Byrne in a floral Valentino dress reminiscent of old bed sheets.
Best use of color: Viola Davis in an amazing turquoise blue one-shouldered chiffon gown with figure-flattering draping and train by Monique Lhuillier.
Best dressed in hot pink: Nina Dobrev in a sleek Elie Saab crepe gown with eye catching lacy cutouts on the side and the back.
Worst dressed in hot pink: Lea Michele in a strapless Valentino gown that well, reminded me of a bottle of Pepto.
Best dressed over 50: Sally Field who at 66 still manages to look absolutely smashing in a gorgeous purple J. Mendel pleated sheer-strapped dress
Best dressed tween: Kiernan Shipka in an age appropriate embellished Oscar de la Renta pink dress .
