28 students were strip searched during an exam at Cap-Jeunesse in Saint-Jerome in Quebec before a final test. A May 24 report by Inquisitr states that teachers there were looking for a cell phone.
The sophomore students were told to put their cell phones on the teacher’s desk before the exam started. The exam was stopped when the teacher noticed one of the cell phones was missing. Everyone had to stop what they were doing and take part in an awkward strip search.
One student said she was told to remove her bra and put her hands up in the air during the strip search.
A spokeswoman for the school board said she was not notified of the strip search by the principal or teacher. She said this is not condoned by the school board and “lacked judgment” and “was a disproportionate action under the circumstances.”
Students will be offered the opportunity to take the exam again since the event that took place was not “conducive to a good test.”
