Scientology keeps celebrities away from “nastier aspects” of the religion. This revelation was made by the great-grandson of the founder of Scientology.
Jamie DeWolf, great-grandson of L. Ron Hubbard, spoke with Current TV and had nothing nice to say about the controversial religion and its high profile followers like Tom Cruise and Kirstie Alley.
DeWolf went on to say that the celebrity followers are also able to move up the hierarchy faster than regular members. Jamie DeWolf told Current TV that Scientology actually tried to recruit Elvis Presley, but he turned them down.
DeWolf said, “The celebrities get a different flavor of it and a very different brand of Scientology. They’re insulated from the nastier aspects of it and also they don’t get stuck in levels like a lot of other people, just constantly spending money.”
According to DeWolf, Scientology is a “cult” that is based on “devious systematic brainwashing systems.”
In an interview with Cenk Uygur, DeWolf talked about how the Church attracts new followers. “A lot of it preys on narcissism. A lot of Scientology’s opening hooks you in that it’s like a pyramid of self-mastery and as you move up, you’re going to reach this level of God-like status.”
“You’re going to have telepathy and telekinesis, be able to move through space and time and you’re going to be able to free yourself from this sci-fi imprisonment.”
In order to keep its members, DeWolf stated that the Church of Scientology uses means such as “electrified hypnosis, brutal security and a CIA-like structure”. He claims that these types of measures become “intoxicating to people.”
“It works through a lot of hodgepodge ideas that you throw together. I think it’s one of the most brilliant and devious systematic brainwashing systems that’s ever been invented.”
“No one’s ever accused my great-grandfather of being an idiot.” Jamie DeWolf is the son of Ronald DeWolf who was L. Ron Hubbard’s grandson.
