This weekend, history organizations from around the Bay Area will be joining forces for a History Expo. Held at the historic Old Mint building, the future home of the San Francisco Museum, the third annual History Expo will include costumed re-enactors, an exhibit of rare coins that were produced by the San Francisco Mint, a historical fashion display, and paintings of Gold Rush-era San Francisco by artist and historian Alan Zimmerman. In addition, many local history organizations will be on hand to share their programs and how you and your family can get involved in Bay Area history. Refreshments and food will be available for purchase.
