The 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles Sunday night (Jan. 27), and we’ve got all the red carpet goodies for you right here! Smack dab in the middle of awards season, we have SAG night. Not the sexiest of the award shows, to be sure, but the stars usually turn out full force for a fun night of celebrating, well, themselves. The good news? They dress up as if it were Oscar night, if a little less reverent So, what did your favorite celebrities rock on the SAG Awards red carpet?
Screen Actors Guild Awards 2013: SAG Awards Red Carpet Fashion Photos
Outstanding Lead Actress nominee Jessica Chastain (“Zero Dark Thirty”) showed up decked out in Harry Winston jewels worth more than my entire block and a fire-engine-red Alexander McQueen gown. Fellow same-category nominee Naomi Watts (“The Impossible”) rocked the red carpet in Marchesa, while Outstanding Supporting Actress nominee Helen Hunt (“The Sessions”) chose a slim-fitting metallic Romona Keveza gown with Neil Lane jewels.
A clean-shaven Bradley Cooper (nominated for his role as Pat in “Silver Linings Playbook”) walked the carpet in a Tom Ford tux with a hand-tied bow-tie. We didn’t catch who designed the suit Neil Patrick Harris (presenting at tonight’s guild awards) chose for the evening, but he looked adorable as always. “Argo” actor and director Ben Affleck looked handsome with his neatly-trimmed face scruff, white dress shirt, a medium-width black tie and a simple black single-breasted jacket.
“Les Miserables” actress Amanda Seyfried look beautiful, if a bit uncomfortable, in her Zac Posen couture. The navy-blue Posen gown was strapless and fitted through the bodice and skirt, opening up into structured, fluted ruffles and a train Seyfried struggled to control as she navigated the SAG Awards 2013 red carpet. An art-deco style drop-pendant necklace and long, styled waves finished off her look.
Speaking of structure, and SAG Awards red carpet trends, “Silver Linings Playbook” starlet and nominee Jennifer Lawrence was wrapped in a stunning blue-black satin-finish Dior Haute Couture creation on Sunday’s red carpet. Double-nominee Nicole Kidman also wore a dark (also black-blue?), slim-fitting gown, going with sequined Vivienne Westwood and some strappy heels.
New mom and SAG nominee Claire Danes (“Homeland”) topped off her black, one-shouldered Givenchy gown with a stylized pony-tail and a plum-stained lip. We’re huge Claire Danes fans and though we didn’t love her look tonight, you certainly won’t see her on our worst dressed list later. The woman just had a baby six weeks ago and had been at every awards show this season looking amazing; barring sweatpants, she really can’t go wrong right now. New mommy grace period!
Stay tuned for more SAG coverage throughout the night.
