“Revenge” star Madeleine Stowe stopped by “Anderson Live” to chat with host Anderson Cooper and special guest co-host Stacy London on Feb. 25.
London noted that Stowe’s “Revenge” co-star, Emily VanCamp, credits her for making the rather villainous Victoria Grayson multi-dimensional – so that viewers really care for her, despite her dirty deeds.
Stowe laughed and said, “She’s about to get so rotten again. She’s sort of had her hands tied. I think she’s about to do some very heinous things.”
Let’s see. Victoria has blackmailed her own husband, framed her lover for murder and then had him killed in prison, interfered with her son’s engagement, shut her daughter out for dating someone she didn’t approve of, and most recently, shot Helen Crowley in cold blood and enlisted her son and husband’s help in covering up the crime.
How much more evil can Victoria get?
Stowe was unable to give specifics, stating that even they don’t know what’s going to happen. She credited “Revenge” executive producer Mike Kelley in giving the general news to press that Victoria’s about to return to her wicked ways.
Viewers are still reeling from Amanda’s (Margarita Levieva) death in the most recent episode, “Sacrifice.” The show returns with the all-new episode, “Retribution,” on Mar. 10. The episode summary via The Futon Critic states:
“Still reeling from the devastation on The Amanda, Emily’s commitment to justice and revenge is stronger than ever, while the Hamptons mourn the loss of one of their own.”
We have yet to see how Jack (Nick Wechsler), Declan (Connor Paolo) and Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) are going to react to Amanda’s death. Victoria and Conrad, however, should be relieved as Amanda told Conrad she knew all about what they’d done to David Clarke (her father), and she used this fact to blackmail him to dropping his involvement with the Ryans and the Stowaway. They should assume their secret is buried with her.
Little do the Graysons know, however, how Amanda’s death will obviously drive Emily to destroy them even more.
Plus, the Initiative will certainly be looking into Helen Crowley’s disappearance, so Victoria, Conrad (Henry Czerny) and Daniel (Josh Bowman) should stay on guard from this lethal enemy.
According to The Futon Critic’s episode summary for “Illumination,” which airs on Mar. 17, Victoria and Conrad are going to put on their most wily public image faces to honor Amanda Clarke’s memory. The summary reads:
“The queen and king of smoke and mirrors, Victoria and Conrad, make a calculated move, starting a charitable foundation in the late Amanda Clarke’s name. But little do they know that Jack is not buying it and has a plan of his own. Meanwhile, Emily’s past catches up to her again.”
Let’s not forget that Jack saw the laptop footage that Amanda showed to Conrad. Now, he’s a widower and baby Carl is motherless. Chances are he’s going to try and avenge Amanda’s death and the Graysons are going to be his prime target.
Should we say, take a number to all of the Graysons vast and varied enemies?
If Victoria is about to get “really rotten,” who knows what she’ll do if she feels threatened by Jack. She could try to harm him, or threaten Declan and/or baby Carl to silence him or save her own skin.
Stowe also advised Cooper and London that she’s quite certain Victoria has borderline personality disorder and Emily is a sociopath. Watching these two dangerous and driven women go to the mat to get what they want should certainly prove to be one interesting and menacing match.
“Revenge” airs Sundays at 9.m. EST on ABC.
