Many of the “Real Housewives” ladies seem to gravitate to red. Yolanda Foster of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hils” tweeted a photo of red Valentino stilettos on Jan. 31. Foster encouraged followers to use the color to spice up their love lives.
It makes sense – red is a color that instantly gets you noticed and reality TV stars love it when the attention is on them. This is also why many celebrities chose to wear the color at award shows and other high profile events.
Red takes on special meaning in February. The shade symbolizes heart health awareness and February is American Heart Month.
The American Heart Association encourages everyone to Go Red for Women in February. The goal is to raise awareness to the fact that heart disease kills more women each year than all forms of cancer combined.
Many of the “Real Housewives” wear red throughout the year. Here are eight of the hottest stars from the franchise. Who do you think wears red best?
Teresa Giudice – “RHONJ”
Teresa Giudice appears on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” Teresa’s parents are immigrants from Italy. She grew up in New Jersey and met her husband, Joe Giudice, there over a decade ago. The Giudice’s have four daughters. Teresa has a degree in Fashion Marketing and Management and was a buyer at Macy’s before deciding to stay home with her children. Giudice is the author of two cookbooks and appeared on “Celebrity Apprentice.”
Bethenny Frankel – “RHONY”
Bethenny Frankel first got noticed on “The Real Housewives of New York City.” Though she’s no longer on the show, she is still one of America’s most recognized TV personalities. Bethenny has written best-selling books, launched her own line SKinnygirl line and has her own talk show. Frankel and husband Jason Hoppy announced the end to their marriage in 2012.
Yolanda Foster – “RHOBH”
Yolanda Foster was born and raised in Holland. She grew up riding horses and milking cows on a farm. She began working to help support her family at age 13 and was discovered by a modeling agent at 16. Yolanda has three children with her first husband, Mohamed Hadid. Her daughter Gigi Hadid is currently working as a model. Yolanda gained five stepchildren when she married David Foster in 2011. Yolanda Foster appears on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
Tamra Barney – “RHOOC”
Tamra Barney joined the cast of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” in the third season. Audiences know to expect drama with Tamra, especially when it comes to her longtime frenemy Gretchen. Barney, who has worked in the real estate field, has three children with ex-husband, Simon Barney. She also has an adult son.
Aviva Drescher – “RHONY”
Unlike most of the ladies on “The Real Housewives of New York,” Aviva Drescher was born and raised in New York City. Aviva was in a tragic farm accident as a child, which resulted in the amputation of her left leg at age six. Drescher has a law degree from Vassar College and a French degree from New York University. However, she focuses on her husband, their four children and several NYC charities.
Phaedra Parks and NeNe Leakes – “RHOA”
Phaedra Parks and NeNe Leakes star on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” NeNe has appeared on “Celebrity Apprentice” and “Glee.” Leakes is the mother of two sons, an author and an advocate against domestic violence.
Phaedra is an entertainment attorney at a boutique law firm. Her high profile client roster includes many famous entertainers and athletes. Parks is married with a young son.
Adrienne Maloof – “RHOBH”
Adrienne Maloof stirs up lots of drama on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Adrienne and her family own a variety of sports teams, casinos and resorts. Maloof is involved in several charities, in addition to having an active role in the family business. However, the most important job to Adrienne is being a mom to her three young sons.
