Xbox 720 has been highly speculated to feature technology that will be banning used gaming, but Sony says they are aware of the topic, and that the PS4 will reflect the right thing to do in this situation.
According to a report from VG24/7 on Tuesday, Michael Denny, who is the Sony SVP of worldwide studios, talked about used gaming and said it is something their company will do the right thing with.
“It’s a massively important issue and I understand why it’s one that keeps coming up and will keep coming up, because people want to know what the exact stance is.
“Of course we’re mindful of what the game development community wants and what the wider industry issues are with those things.
“It’s not something that I feel I have any further announcement or comment to make on, other than to acknowledge with you that it’s a massively important issue and of course we are going to do the right thing,” Denny said.
Xbox 720 had been rumored to be featuring tech that would indirectly ban used gaming, which resulted in a market scare for folks who held stock in the retail companies GameStop and GAME.
The industry’s consumers also reacted harshly to the supposed details, and clearly Sony has recognized the importance of this topic.
Sony will have a difficult decision to make because they are stuck between the consumers who pay their bills and the developers who provide them content.
