Get ready Oncers because there is a lot of scoop to mull over until magic returns on Sunday.
For starters, ABC has released the first sneak peek from “The Queen Is Dead,” giving us a glimpse of the always endearing, Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore on ‘Downton Abbey’). In this scene, Mary Margaret reunites with Nicol’s Johanna. Their moving conversation about Snow’s bittersweet past will give you goosebumps. Take a look at the embedded video for a taste of what we can expect from Sunday’s intense and illuminating episode.
TVLine’s Michael Ausiello also gives us food for thought in his spoiler:
Ausiello: Yes, as previously reported, Eion Bailey will resurface later this season as August — as will Jamie Dornan as Sheriff Graham/The Huntsman! — but Emma will only reunite with one the fellas. “I don’t have scenes with Jamie, unfortunately,” Jennifer Morrison shares with us, “but I do have scenes with Eion.” Bonus Scoop: Though Matt Mitovich teased in the new Spoiler Alert! that there would be one death in this Sunday’s episode, technically there are two — one in each realm.
We already know that the obvious death in this week’s fairytale flashback is that of Snow White’s mother, Queen Eva. Who will die in Storybrooke? As far as we know, Nicol is set to appear in only this episode. Does Johanna die in an effort to help Mary Margaret and David protect The Dark One’s dagger? Who else could it be? Any thoughts, Oncers?
TVGuide’s Natalie Abrams also provides us with a riddle that may apply to this Sunday’s episode:
NATALIE: Let’s see if I can turn this into a fairy tale: Once upon a time, a noble and moral character made a drastic decision that would forever mar his or her future, something so dastardly and irreversible that you would think that this character was actually evil rather than pure of heart. Any guess as to who will make the biggest mistake of his or her life?
Who could she be referring to? Perhaps Snow White makes a daring decision in hopes of saving her mother’s life. What other noble and moral character could it be? Share your theories below.
Are you prepared for more surprises, Oncers? In the follow-up to “The Queen Is Dead,” we will gain new insight on Regina’s mother, Cora. In “The Miller’s Daughter,” Rose McGowan portrays a young Cora. Thanks to EOnline’s Kristin Dos Santos, we now have some interesting scoop on Cora’s past.
A few days ago, E!Online teased:
In the March 7 episode “The Miller’s Daughter,” Rose McGowan kills it as a young Cora and we get to see how Regina’s evil mother became the power-hungry person she is today. We’ll also see her first meeting with Rumpelstiltskin, which is, in a word, seductive.
Today, Dos Santos adds this tantalizing and somewhat disturbing tidbit about McGowan’s appearance:
We already know she’s playing a younger version of Cora in an origin episode airing next month, but did you also know she’s part of a love story? “I fall madly in love, and then it ends tragically,” she tells us. “Most of my stuff is with Rumple. And it was an amazing experience and I’ll see them again next season.” Next season? Does this mean we’ll see her character again? “It’s in the works,” McGowan tells us coyly.
Based on McGowan’s teaser, instinct leads us to believe one thing: Can you believe Cora and Rumple were lovers?! That explains the kiss Cora gave to Mr. Gold to seal their deal in “In the Name of the Brother.” To re-utter previously stated sentiments: Ewwww! Another scenario could be that Rumple just helped Cora out with her tragic romance.
How would you feel about Rumple and Cora’s romance? Do you think their love story would be sweet? Could it be a tale of dark magic and betrayal? Or is she simply seducing Rumple and using him for her own personal gain?
