Anne Hathaway’s red carpet style is always chic and elegant. She is a fan of Armani Prive, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, Gucci and Chanel. We love that Hathaway embraces bold color on the red carpet. Whether she chooses to wear black and white or just a basic black, we’ll be delighted with what we know will be a stylish choice.
If she decides to go for couture after seeing the Parisian haute couture runways, there’s a whole lot to choose from. Dior, Valentino and Elie Saab had great gowns on the runway as did Armani Prive and Galliano. Even, Chanel with its emphasis on bold red, black and white. At the 2013 Golden Globes, the actress chose a white Chanel Couture gown from the designer’s Spring 2009 collection.
At the 2013 AFI Awards, the fashionista chose a chic, floral Oscar de la Renta dress paired with a black jacket and black tights. Bright red heels added a splash of color.
For the 2013 National Board of Review Awards she rocked a conservative, yet chic in a Saint Laurent tux, Givenchy custom vegan shoes, and a Jill Milan clutch.
The actress was elegant in Valentino on the red carpet at the 2011 Academy Awards. She hosted the Oscars that year and had several gown changes, including Oscar de la Renta, Armani Prive, Versace and Vivienne Westwood Couture.
Hathaway is nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Fantine in the movie, “Les Misérables.” Hathaway’s performance as Fantine has been described as “overwhelming” and “powerful” by movie critics. The Telegraph’s film critic Robbie Collin called the four and a half minute take where she sings I Dreamed a Dream “mesmeric.”
The Academy Awards will air at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST on Feb. 24 on ABC.
