It seems the question of the season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is why, exactly, does Brandi Glanville hate her co-star, Adrienne Maloof? What has Adrienne done to her that’s so awful?
Here’s what we, the viewers, know.
It all started when Adrienne tried to get Brandi to go against co-star Lisa Vanderpump at the Season 2 Reunion, which was filmed in January 2012. Having developed a friendship with Lisa, Brandi refused.
In fact, not only did Brandi refuse, she also took it a step further and told Lisa about it and then confronted Adrienne about it on the reunion.
Sometime after that, according to Brandi, Adrienne and Paul called her and demanded that she take back what she said about the reunion via Twitter and tell everyone she was lying. Again, Brandi refused.
But according to an article in the newest issue of Us Weekly, that’s not all. Adrienne also tried to get Brandi fired and even went so far as suggesting more famous replacements to Bravo. It is not known if this was before or after Adrienne tried to get Brandi to make a post on Twitter and take back what she said about her on the Reunion.
But that’s not all.
According to the article, Brandi’s breaking point came when she suspected that Adrienne was behind the stories about her in the press that claimed she was a bad mother who slept all day and drank too much.
So Brandi started fighting back, by making a mental list of everything she knows Adrienne to have lied about in the past, including the surrogacy secret, which Brandi thought to be the most obvious lie.
Fast forward to the spring, when filming Season 3 had begun and the entire cast except for Adrienne and Paul gathered around for lunch at Sur Lounge, Lisa’s restaurant. Kyle asked Brandi what her issue was with Adrienne. Brandi replied that it was a bunch of little things that added up and rambled on with examples, including the phone call about Twitter and that she thinks Adrienne lies. When asked what she thinks Adrienne lies, Brandi cited Adrienne’s book deal as an example. The rest of the cast listened with skepticism over Brandi’s conclusions, which Brandi sensed. In her interview, Brandi said, “I think that’s no one’s really believing me but we all know this one major lie to be true and it just annoys the [expletive] out of me that she keeps lying about it, so I decide to say it.” And so she does.
Those are the events that lead up to Brandi revealing Adrienne’s secret about using a surrogate to have her children.
