Steve takes his fiancée and another couple to the family cabin for a weekend getaway before his wedding. While there a mosquito bite infects him with the zombie virus and a unquenchable desire for brains. Now with a zombie hunter trying to kill him and his bridezilla fiancée insisting the wedding will go on, mild-mannered Steve is pressed to find creative solutions to his disease.
Kristopher Turner (Steve), Crystal Lowe (Tina), Shawn Roberts (Craig), Kristen Hager (Sarah), Stephen McHattie (Max), Emilie Ullerup (Penelope), George Buza (Cletus), Robert Maillet (Terror).
A Little Bit Zombie starts off looking like a poor copy of Men in Black before we find that in this version of reality, zombies exist but are somewhat rare. Max and Penelope are hunting the elusive zombies and turn their attention to Steve after he is infected. By this time we know this is a B-movie with campy lines and some mild comedy. In the end, we realize happily that this is a nicely done B-movie.
Acting was actually pretty good with Turner delivering a funny, solid performance. Lowe did nicely as bridezilla, with clear emotion. Roberts, Hager, and Ullerup supported very well. McHattie, arguably the most experienced of the group, was a bit over the top with much of his performance.
Camera work, sets, and backgrounds were fairly well done without over-complicating the film. Effects, physical and CGI, were good and fit the film well. Zombies were mild in appearance for the most part but some fun gore scenes kept things interesting. Dialogue was campy and silly as would be expected, but kept things moving well. Sound and soundtrack were decent if unexciting.
Overall A Little Bit Zombie is a surprisingly solid, funny, well delivered film which those who like a bit of humor with their horror will likely enjoy quite a bit. If you like light zombie flicks be sure to check this one out.
With plenty of gore, zombies, mild sexuality and foul language this should be fine for older teens and above.
A Little Bit Zombie is no longer showing in any Littleton Colorado movie theatres.
