Pat Wesner is a mom of four and works at a nonprofit, but she never imagined that $11,000 would end up falling on her car while she was driving. According to Huffington Post on Feb. 27, the New York resident had a Brinks truck drop the money right in front of her car.
Wesner was driving north of Salem behind a Brinks truck when the rear doors of the truck opened and thousands of dollars started spilling out. Wesner immediately stopped her car and called the police. The police arrived and helped her collect the stray money.
While Brinks did call and thank Wesner for returning the money, they did not offer any reward for the safe return of $11,000. The mother of 4 sure could have used it but she decided to do the right thing and return the money. One of her sons is currently serving in Afghanistan and one son has disabilities. It is nice to see there are still kind people in the world.
Just like Sarah Darling, when she dropped her diamond ring in Billy Ray Harris’ change cup by accident earlier this month. Harris could have easily kept the ring, but he did the right thing and returned the ring.
Darling and her husband were so thankful that they set up an online fundraiser for Harris to repay him for his kind deed. Since Feb. 14 they have collected $167,464.
There are still good people in the world who do kind deeds everyday. Maybe we should start sharing these stories instead of highlighting all the bad acts.
