Lindsay Lohan makes court appearence

by snap twig

Only a day after requesting a delay in her court appearance due to the flu, actress Lindsay Lohan makes a brief appearance today in front of presiding Judge Stephanie Sautner.

E! News reported yesterday that Judge Stephanie Sautner had received notice that Lindsay Lohan would not be able to make her hearing today due to the flu. Obviously the troubled actor was well enough to board a flight from the east coast to make her hearing.

Earlier this month Lohan’s attorney Shawn Holley appeared in court to enter a not guilty plea to probation violations stemming from a June car crash. Just prior to her appearance Lohan, in an untimely move, fired Holley, ultimately having to beg her to stay on and help with these new charges.

Holley has been with Lindsay through all her trials and tribulations, as they have played out in the courtroom as well as the media over the years.

Lohan has been charged with three misdemeanors: obstruction, providing false information to an officer and driving with wanton disregard.

According to the Associate Press, Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner shook her head when she saw Lohan seated with her attorney. This after warning Lohan a few months ago to grow up and stay out of trouble.

The actress was required to attend today’s pretrial hearing involving three misdemeanor counts filed after a car crash last summer. Lohan pleaded not guilty to lying to police, reckless driving and obstructing officers from performing their duties.

Sautner was the original presiding judge who sent the star to jail, placed her under house arrest and forced her to perform morgue cleanup duty in another case.

Lohan was on probation at the time of the wreck and Sautner warned her that she may face jail time even if acquitted of the counts against her.

Sautner is headed for retirement and will not be presiding over the case when it’s scheduled to go to trial in March. Lohan will not be required to attend the hearing.

Mark Heller, Lohan’s new attorney was present at today’s hearing and said he wanted to resolve the matter as quickly as possible, to which the judge replied, “on this coast,” referencing Lohan’s arrest for allegedly assaulting a woman in New York.

In 2012 the native New Yorker moved to Tribecca along with her assistant Gavin Doyle.
