This week the American public was treated to the spectacle of Hillary Clinton’s testimony in two federal hearings. These hearing were an attempt to get to the truth about what happened in Benghazi. Those that watched and expected a Perry Mason moment of the guilty party standing up and confessing were sorely disappointed. Those that know Hillary it was business as usual.
With four months to prepare and compare the testimony of others it was easy to manufacture answers that either, did not directly answer questions or evade them completely. With a life time of practice it was just another day on the dole for federal employee Clinton. Since she left the Republican Party for one more conducive to her morals she has only been called to account once.
That one time she worked on the House Judiciary Committee during the Watergate investigation. Her direct supervisor Jerry Zeifmen had her fired from the committee. When asked why he stated in his journal “Why she was a liar, she tried to hide public documents.” Since that time Hillary has never had been held accountable for her many lies. From the Rose Law firm records to firing the White House travel staff or even her time traveling parents who named her after Sir Hillary five years before he climbed Mt. Everest.
So she knew walking into those hearings the code of Omerta within her adopted party. While the American people wanted to hear truth what they got lies. They wanted to know why were the requests for security were ignored what they heard was Hillary didn’t have time for all those cables from mere subordinates. They wanted to know why our embassy was attacked what they heard was how hard Hillary has worked. They wanted to know who was responsible for the four Americans dead and they heard “not Hillary” why she even hugged the survivors. What we did learn is Hillary believes working for the State Department is a 9 to 5 job and not one that requires her busy Sundays to be disturbed. When finally asked a tough question her response was after four months “What does it matter?”
It just might matter to the dead, to our standing in the world. It might matter that Hillary’s State Department sponsored Movements.org was a driving force behind the Arab spring and its resulting failure. It might matter that the world is a more dangerous place after Hillary’s four year world pub crawl. It proves the old saying “Success has many fathers but failure is an orphan.” The only person held accountable for all the failures is a movie maker and a poor one at that.
It also may matter to history. When in the future students search for great nations in decline they will see Marie Antoinette in a fashionable gown asking why the peasants don’t eat cake. Adjacent to that will be Hillary Rodham Clinton in Mr. Magoo glasses crying “what does it matter.”
