After nearly two weeks of very little snow, the white stuff returned on Wednesday to hike up the snow totals at most Lake Tahoe ski resorts.
Sierra-at-Tahoe benefitted the most from the storm, reporting 12-14 inches of fresh snow, making for a great powder day. Kirkwood and Homewood ski resorts both received up to 10 inches of snow. Most Tahoe ski resorts had at least 6 inches of new snow.
And the good news is the snow should continue today, although the amounts aren’t expected to be as significant, according to The Weather Channel. There is a 50-percent chance of snow today, followed by 10 percent on both Friday and Sunday. No snow is forecast for Saturday and Monday.
There has been a dramatic change in the Lake Tahoe region regarding temperatures. The daytime highs beginning today will likely stay in the mid-to-high 20s during the day and will dip to single digits in the evening. Those temperatures are forecast through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
