The Kohl’s Cares for Kids Program is focused on supporting all things kids. Their catch line is When it Comes to Kids, Kohl’s Cares. Not only are they interested in children’s educational opportunities, but their health, too. They are doing this nationwide.
If you have never heard of this Kohl’s Program, you will certainly want to check it out because it has been in existence for over a decade. Kohl’s has solicited hundreds of millions of dollars just to give children an opportunity for a happier and healthier future.
From injury prevention, immunizations and nutrition to positive parenting education and fitness campaigns, Kohl’s has a vast amount of focal points that they emphasize for the greater good. They also give annual scholarships and retails Kohl’s Cares for Kids cause merchandise. You may have seen many of the books and accentuating stuffed toys; 100% of the net profits go to support their health an educational opportunities for children nationwide. By getting involved in all of this, Kohl’s believes that they can sincerely make a difference in this world beginning with one child at a time.
Additionally, many of the Kohl’s Associates work in unison to help tutor and help with homework at schools. They also visit hospitalized children and participate in their story hour.
One of the facets of their program is entitled Kohl’s Kids Who Care Program. This portion of the program allows children within local communities the opportunity to be recognized and rewarded. The kids that volunteer are those that are able to be nominated.
Beginning on February 1st and until March 15th of 2013, neighboring Kohl’s stores will be accepting nominations for this most worthwhile program; wanting you to get involved by submitting the name of a young person in your neighborhood that deserves to be recognized.
· Children that are nominated must be between the ages of 6 and 18; age groups will be divided into one of two sections:
o 6 to 12
o 13 to 18
· Their volunteer work must have been carried out in the past 12 months inclusively.
Two winners will be selected; one from each age category. Each child will receive a $50 Kohl’s Gift Card. They will also be able to compete for regional scholarships; each scholarship is worth $1,000. Additionally, the nominees could potentially pursue one of ten $5,000 national scholarships. After all is said and done, Kohl’s also contributes $1,000 to a non-profit organization on behalf of each national winner.
