MTV learned yesterday that Jason Clarke (“Zero Dark Thirty”) is the first person confirmed to be starring in Stephen Gaghan’s (“Traffic”) upcoming film “Candy Store.”
Clarke, who has been proving to be quite the excellent talent, said, “I’m doing a film with Gaghan, Stephen Gaghan. It’s called ‘Candy Store.’ I can’t tell you what it’s about.”
Luckily we already know that the story follows an elite, highly trained deep-cover operative who loses everything, ultimately disappearing into Brooklyn, where he must start again. He washes up as a beat cop, only to discover the global organization he was dedicated to fighting is also operating in his new backyard.
The incredible director has attracted the attention of some big names to the project including: Christian Bale (“Reign of Fire”), Ben Affleck (“The Town”), Matt Damon (“Dogma”), Bradley Cooper (“Midnight Meat Train”), Brad Pitt (“Fight Club”), and Denzel Washington (“Man on Fire”) but no one else has been confirmed.
With this solid plot, and what appears to be huge interest from incredible talent, I think we will have another Oscar nomination on our hands.
