On Feb. 25, 2013 the younger sister of Michael Jackson posted on her website what many have rumored for months. Janet Jackson announced that she is the proud wife of billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana. The eventual wedding has been in the works for months but that crazy prenuptial agreement had to be worked out first. The prenuptial was ultimately shredded and the marriage was consummated.
Janet all of her life has been a devout Jehovah’s Witness and had to be trained in the customs and culture of being a Muslim. Converting to Islam is no easy task. One thing you have to adjust to is the fact that Muslims in some countries can have as many wives as they can afford. Another would be the dress code and certainly the no makeup clause.
While the Jackson family is fighting over the estimated $1 billion estate left by her brother Michael, her third husband is believed to be worth in excess of $2 billion. Janet’s net worth at the time of her marriage is estimate to be $150 million. It is not my intention to suggest by citing these dollar figures that this marriage was all about money, but what other reason can you give for marrying a man with is rumored to having at least 10 other wives.
Not being an expert in the Jehovah’s Witness Religion, I would have to assume that she was taught by the example of her mother and father that it’s one man and one woman for life. The fact that this is her third marriage shows that she didn’t learn that lesson. So one can only speculate as to what lesson she’s sending to the millions of young people who adore her. Is this saying that religion is not important? Perhaps that marriage is for the moment and not for a lifetime? How about mind you own business this is her life?
Never-the-less we are taught to congratulate the groom for landing his bride. You don’t congratulate the bride because it makes it look as if she trapped he husband. In this case what are you to do. Let’s sum it up this way. One more trophy for Wissam Al Mana and “cha-ching” all the way to the bank for Janet Jackson.
