What is the meaning behind Justin Bieber’s new tattoo? Justin’s newest tattoo was first seen on Monday night, as the singer left the Cirque Du Soleil show in London. Bieber’s tattoo photo went viral and by Tuesday the headlines were full of Bieber tat news. Checking out the photo and news of Justin’s tattoo – the new mark seemed innocent enough.
On Wednesday, a Twitter post by a parody account, caught attention as it proclaimed that Bieber had a new Illuminati tattoo. The post has since been removed from Twitter, only to return a few hours later.
For people that have some control over their teenagers, it seems reasonable to want to know what their teen’s music heroes have up their sleeve, or in this case painted on as a sleeve. One of the most popular tattoo trends is wearing sleeves and it looks like Justin could be on his way to obtaining a sleeve –slowly, but surely. There is a possibility of at least three meanings for the giant X on the right arm and hopefully fans will figure out what Bieber is saying.
Some are reporting that the giant, bold X on the arm is the Greek letter “Chi,” and that Bieber is denoting a commitment to Jesus Christ. The word “Chi” means “in Christ.” Bieber has in the past stated his belief system. Justin’s recent tattoos are of a spiritual nature: Jesus Christ, a dove, praying hands and the name “Yeshua” (God). Because of these previous tattoos and statements, we tend to think that the “Chi” meaning fits best to explain the tattoo.
Alternatively, Bieber, tattoos his body and has recently been caught smoking pot. Which leads to meaning number two, the bold X can also mean that a person is straight edge. A few years ago, the phrase straight edge denoted “no alcohol or drugs.” For the most part that does seem to fit Justin Bieber, even though his recent shenanigans have made us shake our heads over his possible walk down the wrong road.
A third meaning is more sinister and we hate to even mention it, but there are some that do think that Bieber is a member of the Illuminati. Bieber has been listed as possible Illuminati member by NaijaGists. In 2010 posted a statement that he is not an Illuminati member, Bieber tweeted:
“I have not joined the Illuminati or any other cult. I’m a Christian and I pray before every show and am thankful for every blessing”
Just two years later, Bieber floored many fans with a tattoo of an owl – which caused a wave of controversy as some linked it to the Owl of Moloch to the dark side. If this was a mistake, we hope that Justin makes sure he knows what tattoos could possibly mean before getting them. People love to link logos and symbols to the occult world – it didn’t start with Justin Bieber haters. Proctor and Gamble is still fighting the false 70s rumor that their logo was filled with occult symbolism.
We hope Bieber has an easier time dispelling rumors that P&G; how many religious tattoos will Bieber have to get to convince people that his tattoos are not from the dark side. There is one other possibility for the tattoo – Bieber is young and having fun.
