We’re talking today to Veronica Frances, author of Tickling Daphne H. Veronica is the pseudonym for a creative writer, residing in New York City. She has had a love of tickling for her entire life. She enjoys singing and writing songs. She also writes non-fiction and poetry.
Thank you for this interview, Veronica. Can you tell us a little about yourself and how long you’ve been writing?
I have been writing for most of my life and published my first book when I was 30. I write poetry, non-fiction and erotic fiction. I am also a singer-songwriter and love to do anything creative.
Can you tell us briefly what your book is about?
Tickling Daphne H. is about Daphne Hamilton, a 21-year-old woman. Her boyfriend Dave and other important people in her life all have tickling fetishes. She must deal with her ambivalent feelings about tickling, sometimes through unexpected situations that cause a whole lot of laughter.
Why did you choose your particular genre?
I have always been a very romantic and sensual person. I knew that I had something unique to bring to the table; a book about tickling that is different than anything else out there on the subject. I have known deep down for quite a while that erotica and romance are my specialties, especially fetish erotica.
What was your greatest challenge writing this book?
Keeping it under 500 pages was my biggest challenge. It seemed as if the story wanted to go on and on forever and I had to work really hard to bring it to the end.
Are you published by a traditional house, small press or are you self-published?
I work with a small publishing firm. They gave me complete creative control.
Was it the right choice for you?
Yes, at the moment. I like to do things my own way and didn’t want to give up any creative control.
How are you promoting your book thus far?
I have a virtual book tour beginning in March 2013 and going through May. I promote my book through blogging, Twitter, Facebook, and through my website.
How is that going for you?
It’s going well so far, but I am just beginning. There is still a lot of work to do, blogs to write and interviews ahead of me.
Can you tell us one thing you have done that actually resulted in one or more sales?
Facebook and Twitter have both increased my sales quite a bit.
Do you have another job besides writing?
I am a singer-songwriter.
If you could give one book promotion tip to new authors, what would that be?
Know your target audience, but don’t be afraid to explore and take chances outside of your target audience.
What’s next for you?
I am continuing to write more books about tickling and other erotica. I am working on a couple of projects now.
Thank you for this interview, Veronica. Can you tell us where we can find you on the web?
You can find more information on TicklingDaphne.com.
