Commercials are popping up all the time for tums, and other types of heartburn medications for older folk. Why? Could this heartburn issue be forming in our little ones as they grow and eat all these hot foods? As the commercials are being played, it seems to always be about some kind of unhealthy food. Eat, eat, eat, to your hearts content, then pop a couple of tums, rolaids, nexium, (the purple pill) or some other kind of pill to ease the burn in your chest. Antacids soothe these symptoms, and are used and prescribed by physicians to help.
Our children are consuming a large amount of these hot foods. Children can be seen in groups passing the hot fries, and pouring on the hot sauce especially on fried chicken with the french fries. Be ware, this practice could be causing health problems for your kids.
