For the first time since the show “Ghost Hunters” aired in October of 2004, it will move from its regular time slot of 9/8c on Wednesday nights to 8/7c. SyFy announced the time change during the broadcast of the February 6 episode. “Ghost Mine” will air in “Ghost Hunters” regular time slot on SyFy beginning February 13.
“Ghost Hunters” is SyFy’s longest running paranormal reality show that follows a team of paranormal investigators as they travel across the United States to explore haunted locations. The show debuted in October of 2004 with the original team of TAPS members co-founded by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. Last spring, Grant Wilson stepped down from his role as investigator and left the “Ghost Hunters” show to pursue other interests.
Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango, both members of the original “Ghost Hunters” cast stepped up to fill Grant’s void, while other members adapted to the new format of the show.
Whether the change in time is an indication of the popularity of the show is unknown at this time.
“Ghost Hunters” fans should be ready to tune in one hour earlier next week to catch the show at 8/7c on SyFy.
Meet the “Ghost Hunters” Team
“Ghost Hunters” aired for the first time on October 6, 2004. The team of paranormal investigators, led by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, co-founders of TAPS (The North Atlantic Paranormal Society), also included Brian Harnois, Steve Gonsalves and Donna Lacroix.
Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson
Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, co-founder of TAPS and lead investigators of “Ghost Hunters” worked side by side for eight seasons before Grant Wilson decided to step down to pursue other interests. The famous paranormal duo continue to be friends outside of the show.
Grant Wilson shocked fans last spring when he announced his decision to leave “Ghost Hunters” to pursue other interest. Grant is now the art director for Rather Dashing Games and enjoys spending his time with family, playing in the band “Carpet Shark” and composing and playing piano music. Grant says he has not left paranormal investigating behind, but simply couldn’t keep up with the vigor of the show.
Co-founder of TAPS (1990) and lead investigator on “Ghost Hunters”, Jason Hawes leads the team with confidence. Jason and his wife have five children, three girls and twin boys. Jason claims that he and Grant Wilson are still friends and that his children consider Grant their uncle.
Steve Gonsalves is a member of the original “Ghost Hunters” team. When Grant Wilson left the show last spring Steve picked up the slack, while Dave Tango moved into Steve’s old position as Tech Manager. Steve is famous for his fear of both spiders and heights. His fear of flying prevented him from joining the team in over seas investigations.
Dave Tango joined “Ghost Hunters” in season two, episode 9 that aired on Sept 21, 2005. He and Steve soon became a regular “team” on the show. The dynamics between Steve and Tango entertained fans and made up for dull moments during the hunt. Dave Tango is now Tech Manager for the show.
Ami Bruni has been a full time member of the “Ghost Hunters” team since 2009. She recently gave birth to her first baby, “Baby Charlotte” on October 11, 20012. Amy is currently on maternity leave from the show, but intends to resume her role as paranormal investigator on the show soon. Amy typically pairs up with Adam Berry during paranormal investigations.
Adam Berry joined the “Ghost Hunters” team in 2010 after winning the “Ghost Hunter’s Academy” competition. Although he joined the team as an investigator in-training, he quickly worked his way up to full investigator and often pairs with Amy Bruni during the filming of the show.
Britt Griffith has been a member of both “Ghost Hunters International” and “Ghost Hunters” and has appeared on “Ghosts Hunters” sporadically over the years. He has been a regular on the show for season eight and continues into season nine. Britt often pairs with KJ McCormick while doing investigations.
Hailey Hawes, daughter of Jason Hawes, joins the team whenever she has time in her busy schedule. Hailey is currently attending college and is considering a Political Science major.
K J McCormick
KJ joined “Ghost Hunters” in 2010 and has become a regular on the series for season eight and nine. KJ often pairs with Britt Griffith as they investigate the spooky world of the paranormal.
Michelle is the newest member of “Ghost Hunters”. She joined the show at the beginning of season nine. Michelle was the runner up in the “Ghost Hunters Academy” competition with Adam Berry.
