The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is well under way for the 117th year, yet the icon of western entertainment in Cowtown is still delivering on family-friendly fun. The oldest stock show in the nation, the 2013 season of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo kicked off January 18th with more activities, more parking, more cattle ties and more high-tech tools than ever before.
Nearly 1.2 million cowboys and cowgirls kicked up their boots in 2012 and by all indications the 2013 Fort Worth Stock Show attendance is right in line with last year. Multiple improvements in the info structure of the facility include street improvements, two new entrance gates, and new parking. A huge patron pleaser, this year tickets for the 6 specialty rodeos and 30 professional rodeo performances can be purchased at the entrance gates for added convenience. Rodeo tickets start at $19.00 and include admission into the entire Shock Show.
According to Fort Worth Stock Show President and General Manager Brad Barnes “We are continually looking for new ways to enhance the Stock Show experience for our guest.”
A mobile application designed for smartphones was also created to provide “real time” information to Stock Show attendees in an effort to allow people to view all events taking place for an informative, user-friendly day while they are easily navigating the facility. This mobile solution serves as an ultimate interactive guide for all attendees.
An added bonus is that the Fort Worth Stock Show offers what it calls “Moo-seum Experience” presented by Central Market. In addition to all the Stock Show entertainment, your Stock Show grounds admission also grants access into The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, the Cattle Raisers Museum and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. It gets better: if you’re a member of any of these museums, you can get into the Stock Show grounds at no cost.
Monday, February 4 is Military Appreciation Day. All active duty, and retired military personnel, may present their military ID for free rodeo tickets to the 2:00p.m. or 7:30p.m. performances. Military Appreciation Day is made possible by Denbury Resources.
