British singer Morrissey refused to appear on Jimmy Kimmel! Live! because the bearded guys from “Duck Dynasty” were going to be there, and he thinks they are “animal serial killers.” According to a Feb. 27 report on Christian Chronicle.org, Phil Robertson says that the Robertsons love Morrissey anyway.
“Whoever he is, we love him as our neighbor, hey!”
The Robertsons don’t look like your average church folks; Phil Robertson is an elder and lay preacher in the Church of Christ. He mentioned that they would like to have a Bible study with Morrissey, who you can almost be certain is totally unknown to the multi-millionaire Robertson, who does not even own a cell phone.
The Robertson clan made their millions through marketing a handmade duck call that Phil Robertson, known as the Duck Commander, created from swamp materials. The family still enjoys hunting almost all of their food in their Louisiana home: duck, squirrel, doves, fish, and turkey. They eat everything they kill, even the squirrel brains that Miss Kaye loves.
Evidently, Morrissey is offended by their way of life, and the way of life of many, many Americans across the country. Steven Patrick Morrissey, now a solo artist, was the former lead singer of The Smiths, a popular 1980s band from Britain. Phil Robertson and his sons may not have heard their 1985 hit, “Meat is Murder.”
As is usually the case, Phil Robertson did not miss an opportunity to share the Gospel that he so believes. Christian Chronicle.org quotes the Duck Commander:
“Kimmel, the only hope that an atheist has is that he not be there,” Phil Robertson said. “That ain’t much of a hope. Y’see what I’m sayin’?”
