Inspired by a culturally-rooted vision, CantoMundo creates space for Latina/o poets to nurture and enhance their poetics.
On Friday, March 1st at 8pm, six Canto Mundo poets, with ties to Southern California, will read their work at Beyond Baroque Literary/Arts Center.

Ángel N. García was born in Texas and raised in Southern California. His poems have appeared in The American Poetry Review, McSweeney’s and Connotation Press. Ángel lives in Long Beach, and is currently completing his first collection of poetry.
Luivette Resto was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico but proudly raised in the Bronx. Her first book of poetry Unfinished Portrait was a finalist for Paterson Prize; her second book Ascension is forthcoming. She is contributing poetry editor for Kweli Journal, and hosts La Palabra readings at Avenue 50 Studio in LA.
Millicent Borges Accardi is the author of three poetry books: Injuring Eternity, Woman on a Shaky Bridge and Only More So (forthcoming). She has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, California Arts Council, and Los Angeles Cultural Affairs.
Manual Paul Lopez is the author of Death of a Mexican and Other Poems and 1984. He currently lives in San Diego, California.
Juan Luis Guzmán earned his MFA from CSU, Fresno. A member of the Macondo Writers Workshop his work has appeared in BorderSenses, CRATELit, and Huizache. He lives in Selma, CA and teaches in the San Joaquin Valley.
Leticia Hernandez, San Francisco based writer, educator, performer sings her poems across the country and beyond.
