West Chester – This is a town that is rich in history and has lots to offer for families, couples and groups. As it is a university town it has a good nightlife and a vibrant feel to the place. Some of the places you might like to visit here are the Northbrook Canoe Company, where you can splash about in a canoe, kayak or have a go at tubing. They also offer daily boat trips so that you can see more of the area from a different perspective. The American Helicopter Museum may not be your first choice of place to spend a few hours, but you will be amazed at just how fascinating you will find it.
If you want to experience the great outdoors whilst on your holiday then head to one of the many national parks that dot the Wilmington area. All of them allow camping and many of them have log cabins that you can rent by the day for a real woodsy experience. The Ridley Creek State Park has some amazing hiking and biking trails and if you want to see your surroundings without using quite so much energy then you can hire horses from the local stables. Fishing is also very popular here and the lakes and streams are well stocked so any budding anglers could find that they are able to catch a nice trout or two for supper.
