If you got to attend San Diego ComiCon in 2003, you had the chance to be one of the first people to view “Batman: Dead End” (If you’ve not had the chance to watch it, here is the best quality link I could come across on YouTube), a short film (8 min long). Avoiding spoilers, here’s the tease: Batman, Joker, Aliens (yes, Sigourney Weaver’s besties), and Predators. The geeks loved it and the short became a hit. Maybe he will elaborate on the story if we over fund him! He has moved on to bigger things but, we can dream. A decade has passed and Sandy Collora, the man behind it all, wants to make a 10 year retrospective documentary about the film.
In the video on the Kickstarter page, Collora explains that the documentary will include behind the scenes and delete footage as well as insights into why he did the project. Then, there will be additional info on the aftermath of the project and the ups and downs for the cast and crew. He also mentions in the video, the loss of two “Batman: Dead End” team members and that has suffered a stroke. On the up side of those downs, the short became so popular that there are licensed toys available and talk of a sequel. Collora also mentions that one of the cast members has won an Academy Award.
