Are you are looking for your Facebook friends and family, who have mysteriously disappeared from social media? They’ve completely gone M.I.A online! One sure bet is that you may find them on the worldwide web of Linkedin, networking with old colleagues and creating new business contacts. Many skeptical people hesitate whenever a new online social site pops up; however, Linkedin appears to house many of today’s upwardly mobile professionals who have outgrown the world of Facebook or even those who have never subscribed to that online world.
It appears that many people who didn’t really care for each other when they worked together; now, depend and rely on these same people to endorse their skills and recommend them for jobs. Ok? There is also the competitive factor. Is this why the unemployment rate took such a deep dive? LOL….
It’s a great concept…. Linkedin’s site is available in 24 languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Romanian, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, Czech, Polish, Korean, Indonesian, Malay, and Tagalog). LinkedIn filed for an initial public offering in January 2011 and traded its first shares on May 19, 2011, under the NYSE symbol “LNKD”.
