There are a lot of nutrition myths on the internet these days, what to eat what not to eat. It can drive you crazy, and to the point where you say “ah what the heck” and just eat it all any way; not watching your portions to the tune of “we all gotta’ die of something” any way. Bad attitude but it makes sense how you got to that way of thinking.
Eggs are bad for your cholesterol
Anything is bad for your cholesterol if you are not taking the steps to get active every day. Eggs are a great source of protein and contain more nutrition and less fat, compared to a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. Eggs primarily raise the “good” cholesterol which isn’t associated with heart disease at all. Eggs are not high in calories.
Saturated fat is bad for you
Do you have any idea what your skin and hair would look like and what your organs would do if you ate no saturated fat at all? Your skin and hair would be brittle and scaly, and your innerds would dry up and stop functioning the body does not thrive on water alone. There is absolutely no correlation between saturated fat and heart disease. In Holland and Norway people eat a lot of fat and suffer almost no heart disease. In Chile the fat consumption is almost nil and their risk of heart disease is extremely high.
During the George McGovern era around 1977 the U.S. Senate published dietary goals for the United States to decrease heart disease risk, eat less fat and cholesterol, less refined and processed sugars, eat more complex carbohydrates from vegetables, fruits and grains. So some folks ran off the deep end with the zero fat, high carb diet for everyone. Nutrition and advertising got people stuck in a diet paradigm, no animal fats or fats and loads of carbs. Clearly eating a high carb diet was not stated it was said to add more to the diet through grains and produce. Saturated fat has now been proven to be harmless. Knowledge and technology have come a long way since then.
